Specializing in the treatment of children with ASD, Step By Step Consulting was created by Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Wendy Fitch, who has a master's degree in special education, as well as 20 plus years of experience working in special education. In July of 2005 Step by Step began as an in-home base program/consulting business and has grown to include specialized therapeutic programs housed in a new facility which opened its doors in the spring of 2006. With successful results, step by step's therapeutic treatment plans emphasize behavior training and focus on language development, self-help, play and socialization skills utilizing the principles of ABA with an emphasis on Verbal Behavior – a proven method in the treatment of ASD.

Each child is treated as special and unique at Step By Step , and therapeutic treatment plans and programs are determined by individual assessments and need. Step By Step's professional staff work with children on a 1 to 1 or 1 to 2 ratio. All senior staff members are certified in special education and are trained in the area of Autism and ABA principles.
