Step by Step Therapy Programs As soon as autism is diagnosed, early intervention therapy should begin. Research has proven that early intervention in an appropriate setting using the principles of ABA therapy for at least two years during early development can result in significant improvements for many young children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Many school-aged children with ASD need additional help during the school year. Using the child's current IEP, a highly qualified, Step By Step professional will design a specialized treatment plan which meets the individual needs of the child. Working with on a 1 to 1 or 1 to 2 ratio, the staff will utilize the principles of ABA to focus on specific behavior, language, self-help, play, socialization and/or academic goals. In Home & Hourly Therapy / Consulting Some children learn their best in their own home environment, which is the reason in-home based therapy is an important option for families. Call to schedule an appointment.  Step by Step Summer Program For many children with ASD, understanding appropriate behavior in a community setting is a challenge. Summer is the perfect time to focus on these very important social skills. Offering three summer sessions of intensive social, communication and behavior training using the principles of ABA, Step By Step's highly skilled staff engage the students in their natural environment out in the community. Non-disabled peers are available to help with the role modeling. Staff ratio is 1 to 2. Therapy sessions in the clinical setting are also included to address specific individual goals. Three summer sessions are offered (June, July and August). Each session includes 5 days a weeks from 8 am to 4 pm. 10 weeks total! Other Services Workshops & Presentations
Available to private agencies, parent groups and school systems. Content of workshops and presentations include behavior methodologies, effective instruction, IEP development and implementation, and characteristics of autism/Asperger's Disorders/PPD. All content is based on the principles of ABA . Consultation Services Assist the educational team as requested by the family and/or school system. Advise education team/family in IEP development. Will attend meetings. Classroom observations per parent request.  Advocacy Advocating for the child and family by assessing individual programming and making recommendations. Will attend meetings upon parent request.
