What is Autism?

Autism is a complex neurobiological disorder and is part of a group of disorders known as Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), which also includes Pervasive Development Disorder (PPD) and Asperger's Syndrome.

How is Autism recognized?

Autism impairs a persons ability to communicate and relate to others socially. It is also associated with rigid routines and repetitive and/or challenging behaviors. Each child is unique and symptoms can range from mild to severe.

Who does it affect?

Today, ASD affects 1 in 166 children.

How can it be cured?

Experts agree that early intervention and intensive therapeutic programs focusing on developing communication, social, and cognitive skills are critical to gain maximum benefit in the treatment of these precious children.
